What is KresCAD?

A browser workspace for drawing, measuring and marking up PDF plans. Open a plan, check its scale, make changes and export a PDF.

Is it free?

KresCAD is free, with watermark-free PDFs and no account or card required.

Can I use it for real project work?

KresCAD is experimental. Bugs can affect measurements, drawings, saving and exports. Check the original plan, confirm dimensions independently and inspect your exported PDF before ordering, costing or construction. Keep your own saved project copies.

Which devices can I use?

Use a modern desktop or laptop browser with a mouse or trackpad. Tablet and phone support are still planned. If something behaves unexpectedly, include your browser and operating system when reporting it.

Do my plans get uploaded?

The current drawing workspace processes PDF plans and project files in your browser. Account checks and hosting still use online services. If you email a drawing for support, you are choosing to share that attachment.

Why are my measurements wrong?

Check the page units and calibrate against a known dimension. A printed scale label may be wrong after resizing or scanning. Check another known dimension, and calibrate other pages separately where their scales differ.

Save project or Export PDF which do I need?

Save project keeps an editable KresCAD file for later changes. Export PDF produces a PDF to review or share. Keep the project file as well as the exported PDF.

What happens if I close the tab?

Unsaved work may have a recovery copy in this browser. On the start screen, expand Continue previous work and choose a drawing. It will not interrupt you with a recovery popup every time. Browser recovery is a backup, not a substitute for saving a project file.

Can I remove an old recovery copy?

Expand Continue previous work, choose Review or discard saved copies, then discard the copy you no longer need. Save anything important first. Clearing browser site data can also remove local work and preferences.

Do exported pages have watermarks?

No. KresCAD exports are watermark-free.

Does Blur securely redact a PDF?

No. Treat blur, coverups and visual edits as markup, not secure redaction. Use a dedicated redaction tool before sharing confidential information.

How do I report a problem?

Email hello@krescad.com with the app version, browser, steps to repeat the problem, and a screenshot if useful. Remove confidential details before sharing files. Save your project before refreshing the page.

Can I search text in a scanned plan?

Yes. Use OCR for a selection, one page or the whole document. The English OCR engine runs on your device. When scanning finishes, search from the toolbar or select and copy text. Corrections are optional. Existing PDF text needs no OCR. See PDF OCR.

Can I use KresCAD as an online CAD tool?

KresCAD supports scaled 2D drawing and PDF markup. It does not import or export DWG, DXF or BIM models. See the drawing workflow.
